Welcome to An Explorer’s Kitchen by JoEllen. A recipe blog about food, travel, and restaurants. My recipes are a collection of recipes that I have accumulated throughout my travels around the world and also shared recipes from friends, passed down, family tested and approved. Some recipes are my adaptations of favorites from not only well-known restaurants but from simple street food vendors, and some are from small unknown restaurants that are just the local’s backyard favorites. Specialty cocktails will also be a part of this blog to provide the full experience.

To me, it’s all about the quality of the ingredients. Most of the recipes concentrate on using good, simple, readily acceptable ingredients. However, because the blog contains many international recipes, a recipe may occasionally call for something unique. In that case, I will provide a source to obtain them easily. Most recipes are quick and painless. But sometimes there is also something a little more complicated to mix it up a bit. I would suggest picking the ones with which you are comfortable. Prep time and cooking time are included. I also believe in presentation – looks are as important as it tastes!

So whatever your needs, a potluck dinner with friends, an impressive dinner to impress a client, or just an easy, quick family meal. My goal is to make this your go-to site. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
